Golden Casket Foundation Committee

The Golden Casket Foundation Committee (the Committee) is central to the management and governance of the Foundation. The Committee is comprised of representatives from Queensland Treasury and Golden Casket Lottery Corporation Limited. The Committee has a number of key responsibilities including:

providing strategic direction for the Foundation
ensuring there is appropriate assessment of applications
ensuring the Foundation complies with legislative and policy requirements
ensuring the Foundation operates on principles of transparency and accountability
ensuring the Foundation operates efficiently by reviewing the functions and operational aspects of the Foundation regularly
making recommendations to the Treasurer regarding the funding of applications.

Chairperson: David Ford

Deputy Under Treasurer, Queensland Treasury

David has been in this position since August 2005, following a decade as Executive Director of the Queensland Office of Gaming Regulation within Queensland Treasury and a period as Deputy Director-General in the Department of Tourism, Fair Trading and Wine Industry Development.

David is also a member of the Jupiters, Breakwater Island and Reef Casino Community Benefit Funds, the Responsible Gambling Advisory Committee and is the 2006 Chair of the International Association of Gaming Regulators.

Member: Ken Sedgwick

Assistant Under Treasurer, Queensland Treasury

Ken joined Treasury in 1991 and was appointed an Assistant Under Treasurer in March 2005. As the Assistant Under Treasurer for the Resources Branch he is responsible for the budget and policy and reform issues associated with a wide variety of departments and other State Government bodies. He has also previously managed and led a number of projects within Treasury, including the commercial restructuring of several government entities into government owned corporations and companies.

Chief Executive Officer, Golden Casket Lottery Corporation Limited

Bill was appointed Chief Executive of Golden Casket Lottery Corporation Limited on 4 September 1995 where he is responsible for leading and managing the activities of the Golden Casket Lottery Corporation Limited to achieve overall business strategy. Bill is also a member of the Responsible Gambling Advisory Committee and a director of Bounty Limited.

Director, Golden Casket Lottery Corporation Limited

John is currently Managing Director of Johnrob Pty Limited and Soapbox Online Pty Limited. An experienced business leader, John is Chairman of the Cooperative Research Centre for Tropical Plant Protection and the Cooperative Research Centre for Sustainable Rice Production, and has been a member of the board of Golden Casket Lottery Corporation Limited since 1997.
